Padel court calculator
Not a rule of thumb. You draw your building with its columns, its doors and its real clear height, and the planner places the courts that meet the FIP dimensions and the LTA clearances, with an escape route from each. Free and with no sign-up until the final plan.
Six steps, from an empty building to a plan
The space
Width and length of the building or site, indoors or outdoors, and the roof: flat, gable, mono-pitch or arched, with its eaves and ridge height.
What is there
Columns (single or on a grid), entrances, fire exits, areas kept for reception or changing rooms, and areas you cannot build on.
The rules
Minimum clearances or a competition layout, singles courts or not, and north–south orientation outdoors.
The layout
The engine places as many courts as comply with every rule and checks the escape route from each one. You can then move, rotate or lock them by hand.
The 3D view
Courts with their glass, mesh and lights inside your building, to show a partner or the bank.
The plan
A PDF dossier with the dimensions of every court, the access zones, the routes and the rules applied.
Why you cannot just divide by 200 m²
A court is 20 × 10 m, but it needs a clear 8 × 2 m zone at the side opening, 1.5 m to the next court (LTA guidance), and a 1.2 m clear route to the exit. Add columns and the clear height under the trusses and the sums change again. In a 20,000 sq ft building, that works out at about 5,000 sq ft per court.
What you need to hand
- The internal width and length of the building.
- The clear height under the trusses (not the ridge height) and, if the roof is pitched, the eaves height.
- Where the columns are and how far apart, and where the doors are.
If you do not have them yet, start from a typical building size and open it in the calculator to adjust it, or try a tennis court.
